Folkheads

Folkheads is a blog I have created in order to share my writing. As an aspiring author, this is important for my future, as it can help me promote myself as a writer by having all my works in one place, and gaining a following of readers before I publish a book can assure sales.

However, I need to actually get subscribers, and in order to do this I need to promote my blog. The ways in which I intend to do this are as follows;

Twitter: On Twitter, I will tweet at least once every day using the hashtag #amwriting—a popular hashtag that authors use to discuss their current projects. This will help me connect with other writers and, with my blog linked in my bio, as well as my once-a-week tweets about the blog, it will hopefully lead the right audience to my blog.

Instagram: I have been using Instagram stories to promote my work, but I will now be posting photos to my feed once a week. This is nothing unusual, as I often post photos to Instagram, only now the captions will be reminding people to check out my blog. In future, I may even create an Instagram account just for my blog, if I get poor reception for posting to my personal account. However, at the moment, it’s the only following I have.

TikTok/Reels: I have future plans to post to TikTok and Instagram Reels, but this will likely come after I make a blog-specific Instagram account, as I am trying to take one step at a time to make sure I invest enough time into each aspect of promoting in order to put out quality content and receive the best outcome.
